When connecting to the secure wireless for the first time, you will need to follow the steps outlined below:
Step-by-step guide
From your Windows computer, follow the steps below:
- Connect to the network (SSID) "ClarksonGuest"
- Once connected, a web-browser may automatically appear. If it does not, open any web browser and navigate to http://www.clarkson.edu
You will then be redirected to a page that looks like this one. You will need to click "Accept"
You are now connected to the guest network. Your session on the guest network will timeout after 4-hours and then you will need to reconnect. The guest network is NOT encrypted. If you are a Clarkson University user, you should continue with the steps below to configure and use the encrypted network ("ClarksonSecure")
- On the next page, you will find a link to "Download the ClarksonSecure profile" for Windows. Click this link and run the downloaded application. You may receive a warning about the software installation; it is safe to allow this application to run.
When the application appears, enter your Active Directory username and password and click "Start Setup."
This process does not install any software on your computer, it simply configures a wireless profile for the Clarkson Secure wireless network.
- Once the profile has been installed, your computer will try to connect to the ClarksonSecure network automatically. Click "Exit" when complete.
